Take on Muse - Animation by Nelicion

Drawing video & animation about Muse, created by yours truly...! :D I'm going to see them live on June 19th in the Netherlands. YES. Find me at deviantART: http://www.cataclysm-x.deviantart.com/ and Twitter! http://twitter.com/nelicion and Facebook...! http://www.facebook.com/reqs.php#!/profile.php?id=100001286761759 Animation was made with traditional pencildrawings, and my 1st animation ever made. Although I used several sketches multiple times, the animation itself displays 822 seperate frames, 10fps. The beginning of the video doesn't exactly show the best quality (low contrasts and brightness), but after a minute or so it gets slightly lighter until the video reaches the animated part. DRAWING / ANIMATION FACTS ------------------------------------------------ Here a few facts about this video: - The project started as a part for my art portfolio. But as time developed, it actually became a small music video on its own. - The development of the storyline is based on my all-time favourite music video ever: "Take on Me" by A-ha. - The animated sequences all started with single sketches which I multiplied quite a bunch of times. No frames were traced from real photos. (Own) reference images were used. - The song playing in the background is a Muse song covered by my youngest brother Bob, also known as http://www.youtube.com/user/Bobsogenesis I specifically asked him to cover this particular song, and add his own style of (guitar)playing, as it plays well with my video. I'm very proud of him. - The song is called "Exogenesis pt 3". It's my favourite Muse song to this very day. - 2 special guests appear in the video... ;) - The drawing vid at the end shows the process of a sketch of Matthew Bellamy which took me about 2.5 hours to draw. After this one, I made 2 more sketches of Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard too. Each of them got their own specific colour, the same colours return in the animation. - The earth / eye shows my own eye. I first wanted to go for Matt's eye, but couldn't find a good and detailed close up, so I decided to go for my own! - From the beginning to the end I spent approx 1000 to 1100 hours into the project! Apart from the 4 large sketches and the video editing, each frame took about 1 hour to draw and edit. That's about 1hour x 822 frames... + a whole lot of research too. I could go on and on like this, but I don't want to waste any more spoilers. :D Hopefully you'll enjoy watching this vid as much as I enjoyed the process. Cheers! :) ------------------------------- Lastly: I would like to dedicate this video to Kelsey, Merilyn, Nina, Melanie, Kate and Izu. Many thanks to my wonderful friends @ deviantART. Without their support, critiques and comments I wouldn't have gotten so far. Special thanks to Muse for being so awesome. They rock!
